Students from Elk Rapids and Kingsley middle schools to perform with Arts Academy Choir

For the ninth year in a row, local young singers will join the Arts Academy Choir in song.

On Friday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m., choirs from Elk Rapids and Kingsley Middle Schools will perform with the Arts Academy Choir at Corson Auditorium under the direction of John Bragle, director of choral conducting at Interlochen Center for the Arts.

This is the ninth year that the Arts Academy Chorus has welcomed young singers from local schools to join them on the Interlochen campus. Since 2011, more than 1,000 middle schoolers have participated in the program. This will be the first year that Elk Rapids Middle School will take part.

"We are excited to sing with students from these neighboring communities," said Bragle. "This program is a wonderful way to encourage students’ participation in school music programs, and also to introduce them to the vibrant arts offerings at Interlochen."

Tickets are $12 for adults, $11 for seniors, and $9 for students. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit tickets.interlochen.org or call the Interlochen Box Office at 800.681.5920.
